Presentation Description:
In the past 4 decades, there has been a dramatic increase in the incidence of many autoimmune diseases. In fact, there has been both epidemiologic and mechanistic evidence on how glyphosate contributes to this problem. In this presentation, we will discuss the prevalence of glyphosate in the environment, the connection between autoimmune disease and glyphosate, the mechanism of action of glyphosate, and naturopathic approaches for addressing glyphosate related illnesses.
Goals and Objectives:
1. Describe the changing incidence in autoimmune diseases over the last 4 decades.
2. Describe the correlation between glyphosate use and this rising incidence.
3. Articulate the multiple mechanisms by which glyphosate can trigger autoimmunity.
4. Apply a set of therapist to address glyphosate exposure and its immunological consequences.
Brief Biography:
Dr. Nigh is a 2001 graduate of NUNM. He has a clinical focus on naturopathic oncology, but also treats a wide range of conditions including Lyme disease, mold illness, depression/anxiety, autoimmune disorders, and much else. He has been actively researching the topic of glyphosate and its impact on health for several years. He has published two articles in the peer reviewed literature on this topic, and is currently working on a third.
