Course Overview:

This presentation contains an overview of the most important areas to consider when treating women with hormone replacement therapy. Content will include a review of the literature on the safety of hormones, the potential pitfalls of hormone supplementation, and answers to commonly asked questions about different ways to treat and monitor patients.  This presentation is designed to give new as well as experienced practitioners a greater level of confidence in utilizing hormones in their practice.

  2. Understand key research regarding the safety of hormone replacement.
  3. Identify key hormones in a comprehensive hormone replacement plan.
  4. Identify potential pitfalls in dosing hormones and testing for hormones.

Brief Biography:
Peter Koshland, PharmD is a graduate of Georgetown University (1996) and the University of California at San Francisco School of Pharmacy (2000).  Peter opened his own compounding pharmacy, Koshland Pharm, in 2009 in San Francisco. Over the last 20 years, Peter has worked with doctors and patients on individualized, integrative therapies that make a difference in the quality of patients’ day-to-day lives.  In addition to his current role as CEO and head pharmacist at Koshland Pharm, Peter is an Adjunct Clinical Professor of Pharmacy at UCSF as well as a member of their Pharmacy Alumni Board. He trains and consults with doctors across the state of California in the areas of hormone replacement, thyroid disorders, and compounding applications for dermatology, urology, and pain management. He gave his most recent lectures in the fall of 2018 for the California Naturopathic Doctor’s Association on the subject of low-dose naltrexone therapy and in the spring of 2019 for the Professional Compounding Centers of America as a part of their HRT Symposium in Las Vegas, Nevada.
