Presentation Description:
Female infertility is a multifaceted condition and it can negatively affect patients emotionally, mentally, and physically. Luckily, this is where naturopathic medicine can really shine. In this presentation, Dr. Aumatma Shah will discuss how to diagnose infertility including what lab tests are essential, and uncover the key underlying causes of female infertility. She will then discuss various conventional medical approaches including clomid, IUI, and IVF and their mechanisms of action and when their uses are implicated. Next, she will discuss how naturopathic medicine can support a patient going through infertility. Finally, she will end with a review of cases.
 
 
Goals and Objectives:
  1. Be able to assess and understand the underlying causes of infertility.
  2. Understand the conventional medications used to treat infertility, understand the mechanisms of actions of many of the related medications, and review the scenarios in which they are most likely to be successful.
  3. Know which tests to run on patients and be able to interpret the results.
  4. Utilize the best naturopathic treatment approaches to optimize female infertility.


 
Brief Biography:
Dr. Aumatma is a Naturopathic Doctor, with a Master's in Nutrition, from the University of Bridgeport, College of Naturopathic Medicine and has been practicing medicine for over 10 years in the Bay Area. She specializes in fertility, is the best-selling author of "Fertility Secrets: What Your Doctor Didn't Tell You About Baby-Making," and is a sought out speaker on topics of related to Women’s Health. Dr. Aumatma was also awarded the “Best Alternative Medicine Practitioner″ award locally in 2015 and has been seen on shows such as Good Day Sacramento and more. Dr. Aumatma has served on the CNDA board for many years and currently serves on the EndoANP Board of Directors.
