Course Overview
The Endocannabinoid system is a hot topic in modern research and clinical application. Therapeutic activation of this system has shown promise in a great many arenas from cancer research to auto-immunity to mental health disorders. The most well-known exogenous cannabinoids are THC and CBD. Lesser known but therapeutically valuable are cannabinoids found in other botanicals and foods, which can be employed to great effect and without any legal issues. This presentation walks the attendee through an overview of the endocannabinoid receptors, the endogenous and exogenous ligands, drugs that target the endocannabinoid receptors, and highlights non-cannabis botanicals that can active, augment, or otherwise interface with this profound system of equilibrium in the body.

Brief Biography:
Dr. McAllister is the co-owner of the Pure Vitality Rejuvenation Center, a Naturopathic clinic in the Brentwood area of Los Angeles. He has a strong background in botanicals having worked as a botanist with the US Department of Agriculture and Bureau of Land Management. He has a passion for the incredible healing potential of herbs and has been fortunate enough to teach botanical medicine at SCNM, Bastyr University, and the Southwest Institute of Healing Arts. Dr. McAllister is an expert in men’s health, environmental medicine, and IV nutrient therapies. When not in the clinic he enjoys gardening and spending free time with his three beautiful children and lovely wife.
