ABOUT THIS SONG This beautiful Earth is a powerful home and teacher, especially when we pay attention to the frequent communications that infiltrate our moments. Integrating our senses with the Earth reveals the wisdom that Gaia carries and dispenses lovingly. When I created this song I wanted to paint the picture of the Earth as teacher, as an example of how humans can be in moving freely with emotion. The moods the Earth reveals via weather, and geologic events can be a powerful vehicle for humans to witness and take inspiration from. I live about 50 miles from the San Andreas Fault in California. Here on the coast there are quite a number of minor faults that shake and shudder now and then. When there are more frequent earthquakes, I feel much better about the release of the stress that would lead to much bigger and more impactful occurrences. When people swallow feelings and eat their anger, it store in tissue and chakras and pushes to release. The more we force and resist the release the greater the likelihood of the inner earthquake inside that can be damaging to those around us. And how many are hesitant and even afraid to cry, express the sadness and grief that can be a natural part of human living. The rain comes from Gaia and she processes and releases and the whole natural landscape is cleared and cleaned by that wash and flow. So, too, can we use this as an example. The song is in Em which is the relative minor to the Throat Chakra key of G. Minor keys force one to turn inward. This is where the feelings are. I called upon a Native American feel to the song as that music is so often in alliance with the Earth Mother. The combination of the feel, the driving quarter note pulse, and the lyric serve to initiate a deeper connection for the listener to their foundation. It reawakens the dormant emotional holdings and reminds that there is value, wisdom, and practicality in releasing the stuck emotions. Sharing what the feelings are, physically getting them out is the charge of this song...do not wait to do so...stay in balance...like the Mother does. |
SONG LYRICS: SHARING Mother Earth she is a model She lets her feelings show If we human beings will listen We all will truly know In her joy she brings us sunshine And all her creatures sing Her puffy clouds go dancing There is life in everything But when there’s anger In her body There’s thunder in the sky The ground begins to quake And you can hear a mighty cry Mother Earth is always calling She has so much to say Won’t you listen, listen, listen? Mother Earth she is a model She doesn’t hold a thing For the ones who see And hear her She will tell them everything When she’s sad for the abuses And the pain she’s had to take She let’s go and cries a billion tears And washes it away When she’s frightened by Explosions That rip her earth and sky She may hold her breath and shiver And make it hot and dry Mother Earth is always calling She has so much to say Won’t you listen, listen, listen? Sharing, sharing Sharing what the feelings are Don’t hold ‘em all inside Sharing , sharing Sharing what the feelings are Tell a friend, talk about it Shout, shake, scream, cry Mother Earth she is a model She’s there for us to see She says let your feelings flow Like the rivers to the sea When she’s lonely She goes calling And her creatures come around They caress her love And hug her From the mountains to the ground She doesn’t reach for anything To take the pain away She does it all so naturally That’s Mother Nature’s way Mother Earth is always calling She has so much to say Won’t you listen, listen, listen?
