ABOUT THIS SONG This Earth Day theme arrived during our last year of performing together, Erin and me. Life had other plans for us and the Welch family. But this was a great one to go out on. Too often we, as humans, set aside a single day to honor, bring attention to, and celebrate an action, a belief, that truly ought to be a part of how we are on every day. Earth Day was a long time in coming. And all the claims that a bunch of tree huggers don't need a holiday, a deeper part of humanity won out, the Earth human alignment and symbiotic relationship. It is a 1 4 5 song that has been the basis of rock and roll and beyond since Rock Around the Clock fell from the heavens in 1957. It is upbeat and has a reggae feel, with a bounce. I wanted to affirm that all of our efforts to support, love, and sustain the Earth while changing our own habits, was paying off. It painted a picture of movement forward, accomplishment, and success. And it carried also the absolute knowing that continued effort and permanent personal and collective change were required to reach the places we desired. SO, please listen and enjoy and enjoy the new Earth vision...and above all, keep on cleanin'! |
