This catchy tune was created at the Unity West Central Region Kid's Camp in the Napa Valley Hills in the Summer of 2013. It reflects the theme and title of the 5 day camp. Usually I create the songs before I arrive or in the first day, but I was having a lack of success with this one. Every afternoon I, Mary and Pat (both camp medical staff), would spend some on the deck time under the giant redwoods at Valley of the Moon Retreat Center for a snack and conversation. For some reason the idea of making it reggae came up. Now we have three white folks in their 50's and 60's, none of whom are real familiar with raggae music. But the idea seemed inspired. I have played so many weddings with all styles of music that I can fake any style pretty well.
So, we started to play with it. It just poured out. Then, the song just begged for movement. When the 7-9 year olds came around they started to make suggestions. It was a fun experience to create the collective movements to a song that seemed to drop in from the redwoods.
Have fun with it, bruddah!
Be Love, See Love
West Central Region Unity Kid's Camp
Be love, see love
Be love, See love
Well, if you want to be Love you got to see Love
If you want to see Love you got to be Love
if you want to be Love you got to see Love
If you want to see Love you got to be Love
Der ain't no other way, mon
Der ain't no other way, mon
Der ain't no other way, mon
Der ain't no other way, mon
So say, Jah!
Jah! Jah! Jah!
