Course Overview

This 2 part webinar series will be a fast paced and information packed review of key herbs used to actively treat cancer. We will start with an introduction to critical thinking in cancer care and review treatment planning principles such as testing and creating assessments to help guide treatment. We will discuss the key constituents and key actions in common cytotoxic herbs such as Artemisia annua (source of artemisinin) as well as some less frequently used herbs such as Viscum album, Thuja occidentalis, Taxis brevifolia, Podophylum peltatum, Taxus brevifolia, Asimina triloba, Camptotheca acuminata, Phytolacca sp., and Chelidonium majus. You will walk away from these 2 webinars with detailed descriptions of phytopharmacology and precision dosing, discussion of herb / drug interactions, and cautions about toxicity signs and risks.

Attend this presentation to confidently:

  • Demonstrate safety in dosing and prescribing cytotoxic herbs.
  • Recognize signs of toxicity from herbs.
  • Be familiar with maximum daily dosing of cytotoxic herbs.
  • Understand the usefulness of herbs in the clinical context as an adjunct to other cancer treatments.
