Course Overview
Infant nutrition is the cornerstone of preventive medicine.  Optimizing nutrition in infants, particularly those with food sensitivities, is an important way to reduce risk factors for chronic disease, encourage healthy relationships with food, and  minimize food allergies.  Dr. Jennifer Huber RD, ND will discuss up to date guidelines on feeding recommendations for infants and review the recent research on food allergy prevention and timing of food introduction in infants.

After the presentation, participants will be able to confidently:

  • -Educate parents on current infant feeding guidelines for infants ages 0-12 months
  • -Make recommendations on solid food introduction based on up to date research for prevention of allergies and atopic disease
  • -Understand the baby-led weaning  method of food introduction including nutritional concerns
  • -Develop strategies to prevent and work with “picky eaters”

Biography:
Dr. Jennifer Salib Huber, RD, ND is a Naturopathic Doctor and Register Dietitian.  She has been in practice since 2004, she owns and operates a multi-disciplinary clinic in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, Canada.  Dr. Huber has been offering workshops on infant nutrition and baby-led weaning to the public since 2010
