This course will review how Hahnemann’s materia medicæ were constructed by going back to the primary source literature, and Hahnemann’s original system. From there you will explore how Bönninghausen created the repertory to most accurately apply the law of similars. You will understand the historical background on the construction of the materia medica and repertory so you can understand how these tools are best used. It will be shown how to access and utilize these primary texts both in study and clinical practice. Special attention is focused on the process of abstraction and recombination of symptoms in the materia medica, repertory, and in practical clinical application. A focus will be on Bönninghausen’s Therapeutic Pocketbook as it is the only repertory designed to accurately reflect Hahnemann’s intended methodology. Case reviews will illustrate the Bönninghausen Therapeutic Pocketbook method in practice and make it more accessible to get started using these straightforward techniques consistently.
