Presentation Description:
Most men will experience a prostate problem at some point in their life. The three main prostate conditions include prostate cancer, benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), and prostatitis. These conditions can be caused from mitochondrial dysfunction, metabolic syndrome, oxidative stress, and chronic inflammation. All three conditions increase healthcare cost to the billions with prescribed medications, surgical procedures, or treating adverse effects of medical treatments. Furthermore, these prostate problems are preventable or can be managed successfully with naturopathic interventions. In this lecture, we will evaluate how to perform a prostate exam, what labs are appropriate, and best treatment approaches to managing patients with prostate disease.

Goals and Objectives:
1. Describe the three main prostate conditions in detail along with their causes.
2. Explain the best method of diagnosing certain prostate diseases.
3. Understand how to look at prostate problems with a “naturopathic lens”.
4. Understand how to treat prostate conditions using natural medicine.
