Dr. Sangita Pedro, ND

Originally Presented: March 2022

Presentation Description:
Parasites are older than humans. They exist at every level of the food chain and infect plants and animals of all kinds. Intestinal parasites are found worldwide, including industrialized nations and cause a multitude of health problems. Given all we know about parasites, they still tend to be ignored or undertreated in cases of complex illness. This talk will focus on intestinal parasites as a common, maintaining factor in complex, chronic illness. We will review how intestinal parasites enter the human body and how they affect human physiology. There will be a thorough discussion of clinical signs and symptoms, diagnostic criteria, and treatment protocols using real case examples.

Goals and Objectives:
1. Understand how intestinal parasites affect human physiology.
2. Recognize the clinical signs and symptoms of intestinal parasites.
3. Understand how to design an effective treatment protocol.
