This presentation will enhance the clinician’s ability to think creatively about treating cardiac conditions through the enhanced lens of Ayurvedic medicine. By learning Ayurvedic foundations and concepts for holistic treatment of the cardiovascular system, clinicians will walk away with a new ability to assess cardiac conditions and a nuanced approach to lifestyle recommendations, herbal remedies, and nutritional advice. Additionally, pharmacology and herbal interactions will be discussed along with a number of case studies for a comprehensive view of theory and application.
After the presentation, participants will be able to confidently:
1. Interpret common cardiac conditions through the lens of Ayurvedic diagnosis.
2. Expand the clinician’s materia medica to include common Ayurvedic herbs.
3. Understand the evidence surrounding herb/drug interactions of the herbs covered.
4. Understand and utilize Ayurvedic lifestyle recommendations including pranayama
