Make it call and response and you have a hit in the making. Sunday talk title at Unity in San Luis Obispo...Love is my work...of course. Put it in E and jump back and forth with A...you know the sound. Make it action, as it is about work, you know. Make 'em want to clap along. Make em' respond quickly...not too long with the lyric. Then create a part for me to sing while they rest and integrate and anticipate coming back into the call response. Arms, legs, feet, heart, head, body...love. Top it off with the section with a bunch of Amens and slide on home to the key change for the big ending. Textbook stuff. Boy, is this fun or what?! I use this song a lot when I share music around the world because it lifts you up. And boy, can we use perpetual lift ups in these transitional times.
