ABOUT THIS SONG I live in the Central Coast of California, a powerful land that was peopled by the original Native Tradition of the Chumash. In my teenage years my mother became involved with a particularly active community of the Chumash near Santa Margarita. years later I would rediscover a song that I had heard sung during those years. It is a dance song that can be learned by accessing the online manual accompanying the Community Dance CD, We Circle Around. The song, like so many of the Native chants, is in the Solar Plexus key of E, though it oscillates between the major and the minor, which shifts the energetic to the Throat Chakra. After all, it is a welcoming song. |
